This webinar even is free to whoever would like to attend, and if you are looking at learning more about Roto and tracking… this is probably one of the best places to get an introduction to that. You might have seen in my article on AEtuts+ “28 Matchmoving and Tracking Tutorials” that Ben Heusner had a lot of the tuts in there on the Imagineer site… well he is going to be your presenter! I think there may be limited space, so hit it up soon… its gonna be a hell of a webinar.

In the first instance, he uses an image mask in Final Cut Pro to colour correct the image and applies a pitch shift to change the voice.

In the second instance he uses a blur filter and an 8-point garbage matte to blur out the characters voice. He then shows you how to use the ‘paste attributes’ setting in Final Cut Pro to apply an audio effect created on a previous clip to this new clip.

Finally, he uses After Effects to motion track a number of black bars across the distinguishing features of his witness under protection.

After you click through over to ProJuice.org’s website, you can watch the tutorial in standard definition or high definition.

Hey everyone! I have been hard at work, setting up a green screen studio in my basement so that I can up the production level of the VLOGs. I have some great ideas in mind… and the VLOGs are hopefully going to be a weekly thing once i get a schedule down. In the meantime, you can check out the rad array of tutorials that I have been collecting this week, as well as read my weekly articles over at AEtuts+, as well as my latest – “A Concise Guide To After Effects Keyboard Shortcuts“.

fineCG.com, a new site from Maltaannon, and his buddies at Polygon Studio are bringing you tutorials from all kinds of different aspects in the Visual Effects realm. The first tutorial, called 3D Sport Animation, takes a 3D low poly model of a human and makes the whole body particles using Pflow and animates while it kicks around a soccer ball (football). Check out fineCG.com HERE and watch the tutorial HERE and download the project files HERE.

A very popular request is how to make a logo breakup into particles and reform into another logo. There’s many ways to achieve this and most of them require a full 3D application, but in this tutorial we learn how to achieve it all in After Effects using a 3D particle systems and a few smoke and mirrors.
He takes us through the steps of darkening and colouring the image to look like night, and then creates a light source to turn the street lamps on as well as giving the light a fall-off on the road below.
Sprint made it very popular in their latest advertising campaign, but it’s been around for a long time, Picasso made a light painting in 1949. In this tutorial Ben shows us how to easily recreate this effect using particles in After Effects.

In this cast, Nick goes over the basic tools for creating and modifying shapes into objects. Ever wanted to start to build objects to use in your 3D comps? Use these basic tools to create almost any object or item. Stay tuned… In the next lesson, we will start to build simple objects with these techniques.

While most modern NLE systems ship with standard wipe transitions, there are some transition styles that are more of an in-camera effect rather than a synthesized gradient wipe or block dissolve. One of these effects, known as a “Swish Pan,” is created by panning the camera very quickly in a 180 degree arc, creating the look of a fast blur between the outgoing and incoming clips. Continuing in the tradition of making visual effects easy to create, Boris Continuum Complete 6 AE now includes a Swish Pan transition filter which is available free for registered BCC 6 AE users. In this video tutorial, we’ll use the new BCC 6 Swish Pan filter to transition between a pair of clips. LINK HERE
It’s important to have strategies and techniques for the earlier stages of scene development that facilitate a smoother workflow. The less time you spend waiting for renders during the early phases of a project, the more time you’ll have for fine-tuning and testing, resulting in better final results for your project. In this article, we’ll take an overview of some of the different tools and techniques that are available in Blender to help you be more efficient with your preview rendering. LINK HERE

They’re not hard to create, you can get professional lenses and tripods to make some killer panoramics. I created this image using a digital camera on a tripod, taking a picture each time I rotate the camera a few degrees. I then used Photoshop’s Photomerge feature to create the image below out of 25 individual pictures.

Once in a while a new (or in this case very rarely used) technique appears on the scene and suddenly you start seeing it everywhere. Well we have a feeling that this is going to be one of those. In this tutorial Satya shows us how to use the built-in radio waves plugin to create an incredibly beautiful and ethereal animation of morphing letters.
We mainly focus on elements like ensuring sound topology, how to generate successful creases in your mesh, and the importance of studying anatomy. We will not go into great detail concerning every aspect of modelling a character from start to finish, I have other videos for that, but rather look at this as a nice springboard for those who catch onto principals quickly, and a great first step for everyone else.

Bleach bypass, also known as skip bleach or silver retention, is an optical effect that entails either the partial or complete skipping of the bleaching function during the processing of a colour film. By doing this, the silver is retained in the emulsion along with the colour dyes.

Nick shows us two ways of making a bleach bypass. The first way can be done in AE or Final Cut Pro and involves using two layers. The second is a way he learnt from Creative Cow and can only be done in AE… well you can’t seem to do it in Final Cut anyway.

So I found this site called Pro Juice TV. They have a bunch of tutorials that deal with editing, AE, Final Cut, and audio, as well as some production stuff. The host is kind of wacky looking but they seem to know what the hell the are doing… so check em out… oh and HERE IS THEIR YOUTUBE CHANNEL.

I also found this article on 144 Plugins for After Effects. It is really informative, it lists all of the plugin developers (except there’s no VideoCopilot.net) and lists what their plugins do, and all that good stuff… it is really informative, and worth checking out.

Lastly… here is a little preset for a Wiggle Loop Expression… DOWNLOAD, and HERE is the thread on VCP to check out what it does.
