Contests

This is the contest/giveaway page for the rules of how to enter the contests and giveaways that are put on by VisualFXtuts.com and our sponsors. Giveaways are open to anyone in the Continental Unites States only, for now. If giveaways are open to the entire world, we will specifically state so. To be eligible to win, you must have a Twitter account. All giveaways are based off of followers and retweeting specific tweets. If you don’t have a Twitter account yet, you can make one by going to http://www.twitter.com. This is the ONLY way to enter giveaways put on through this website. And its really easy… only takes a few minutes.  As for contests such as the CG Pyrotechnics Challenge, contest rules will be specifically stated in the contest details.

CURRENT CONTESTS and GIVEAWAYS

To Enter:

  • Join the Vimeo Group http://vimeo.com/groups/17413
  • Create a fire clip using ONLY After Effects and any third party plugins you like.
  • You can not copy from tutorials, but I have yet to see a decent fire tutorial.  If you do… I will know.  I mean come on… you can’t put a tutorial past me.
  • Upload your clip to the Vimeo Group to have it judged
  • Me, Evan, and perhaps a few other judges will judge the clips and find a winner.
  • Contest is running indefinitely, but a deadline will be set soon.

Prizes:

  • Grand Prize:  1 Copy of Making It Look Great 5 hosted by Maltaannon, 1 copy of Kindle: Pyrotechnics for Compositors by Evan Schaible, and 1 copy of FumeFX: It’s Not Just for Fire (voucher redeemable upon release)
